This book makes memorizing drugs very easy by taking a system-by-system approach and providing the reader with memorization techniques for each drug. Guerra also has an elaborate understanding of the roots an stems of each drug class and how the drug names are created. The explanation of the origin of the drug names and the roots that they have in common have been very helpful to me when learning these drugs. With the help of Guerra's books I was able to memorize 100 drugs in about 6 hours, which I would not have thought possible at the beginning of the semester.

I bought this book. This review is based on one full day of analyzing the material presented. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting a tool to recall drugs by classification, name, and mnemonics.
I outlined the author's note and feel these are full-circle critical points that he makes: The book assembles an easy to understand basis of drugs to be utilized for class, exams, and medical practice to the student that wants to be remarkable. Also, transforming the language of pharmacology into plain understood English is a realistic goal that this book is helping me with. The author's analogies and mnemonics shared greatly enhance the learning experience. I also highly appreciated the content in the author's note about taking the memorization a step further to comprehension to describe a drug treatment regimen.
I have implemented the strategies within and have found positive results so far! Thank you for such a wonderful book!

What a great book! I am a visual learner so I ...

What a great book! I am a visual learner so I take the drugs and categories given in the book and make a concept map with each of them in different colors. I am currently switching careers from a Science teacher to nursing and as a teacher I must say, I am impressed! :-) Very easy to understand and learn. My goal is to learn all 200 drugs before starting nursing school since I have heard that a prerequisite for pharmacology IS pharmacology ;-) .
