Last semester I took introductory Chemistry at my college and we used Tro's Intro. Chemistry 5th Ed. and I thought it was one of the best books I have used in my college career thus far. Now I am taking college chemistry 1 and this book was required. Thank god I got a decent deal on it because the book is awful. Way, way too much detail and not enough example problems from the author. All the extra useless detail makes carrying this book around a chore as well.. Anyway, the only reason I was able to do well in the class was because of Tro's book from last semester! If you are required to use this book for your class, I would recommend you use the tutoring/help center at your college before trying to read the book for an explanation. Seriously. It's that bad.

Don't buy this unless it's required for your class

Had to use this for my gen chem 2 class, some of the answers for exercises are wrong, lots of instances where the material is presented in a confusing way. (I got a B in the class based on lecture material; I'm not bad at chemistry)

I'm gonna look for the book I used at my other school so I can strongly recommend that one instead
