About the Author
Lori Austin is the pseudonym of two-time RITA Award–winning romance author Lori Handeland. She sold her first novel in 1993 and has written many since. Lori lives in southern Wisconsin with her husband, enjoying occasional visits from her two grown sons.

In The Lone Warrior, Lori Austin has created characters that will stay with you a long time after you close the book. Caught between the worlds of the Cheyenne and the post-Civil War U.S. Military, Luke has been scarred and damaged to the point where he is thought to be crazy. Tough-as-nails heroine Rose, who carries her own scars both physical and psychological, enlists Luke's help to find her stolen daughter. Together, Luke and Rose undertake a journey that will lead to the ultimate reward: love and healing for them both. This rather dark, serious book is well researched and the author has done a masterful job of world and atmosphere building. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I loved every moment of reading it. You will too.

captivating!

I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. I read a variety of genres, mostly under the romance headings, but have not read western/Indian ones. Since I like to expand my horizons I thought why not! This book pulled me in right away. The characters are strong, passionate and real. I couldn't put the book down. There were a couple of things that I felt were a bit violent, but given the subject and time/location it was expected. So if you are like me and looking for a different read, or you like this genre, go for it. I am positive you will enjoy the Lone Warrior.

lone warrior a huge hit EVERYONE should read it

This was the best of all the series. When I first started to read it I could not get in to it at first.Then after reading the second and third Chapter I was hooked.Luke is one of my new favorite historical heroes.Rose is no slouch either. I just love the dynamic and the true feelings and emotional pulls they go threw in the book.Lori did an amazing job and I loved this book and the series its apart of ! I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance and historicals you can not go wrong with it or this series
